Our Staff Knows Cartagena — Where to Eat, Tapas, See and Shop

A guided tour is only as good as the people leading it. Our team is from here, lives here and eats here — and after the tour they are the shortcut to the version of Cartagena that guidebooks never quite get right.

Locals who know how to enjoy life

Between tours you will usually find us at a table on the harbour front with a plate of rice in front of us. That is not a coincidence: knowing where to eat well in Cartagena is part of the job, and we take it seriously.

Where to eat the best local rice

Cartagena is rice country. Ask us about arroz caldero — the fisherman's rice cooked with rock fish broth and served with alioli — and about arroz a banda and the local seafood rices. We will tell you which places still cook them the traditional way, how long they take to serve, and which ones fit inside your port day.

Tapas, the Cartagena way

The tapas route around Calle Mayor, Plaza San Francisco and the streets behind it is one of the best things about the city. Michirones, marineras, caballitos, a cold beer in the shade — we will point you to the bars locals actually use, and the hours when they are at their best.

What to see, and in what order

We know how much time each visit really takes: the Roman Theatre, the castle hill, the walls, the Naval Museum, the Civil War shelters. Tell us how many hours you have before the ship leaves and we will build a realistic order for you.

Where to shop

From Calle Mayor's shops to the local markets, we can tell you where to find real local produce and souvenirs worth carrying home, and where you are simply paying the cruise-passenger price.

Let us guide you

Ask us anything during the tour. Our guides genuinely enjoy showing off their city, and the recommendations are free with every ride.

If you are coming into Cartagena on a cruise, our Segway tour is built around your ship's departure time — we will reply to your request as soon as possible.
